Round tube / pipe weight calculator (kg/m)

Enter the dimensions in mm to get the weight per metre and the total weight for any length and number of pieces, in steel, stainless steel or aluminium.

Weight per metre

10.881 kg/m

Total weight

65.3 kg

Density: 7.85 kg/dm³

See Steel Pipe EN 10219 sizes →

Formula and example

Cross-section area A = π t (D − t) (mm). Weight per metre = A × density ÷ 1000, with the density in kg/dm³.

π t (D − t)

Example: 48.3 × 3 mm in steel weighs 3.35 kg/m, so a 6 m length weighs 20.11 kg.

Carbon steel 7.85 kg/dm³, stainless steel (AISI 304) 7.93 kg/dm³, aluminium 2.70 kg/dm³. Delivered weights can differ from calculated ones within the mass tolerance of the product standard.
