Aluzinc purlins: aluminium–zinc coated C, Z and Sigma sections
Cold roll-formed C, Z, Sigma and U sections from Aluzinc (AZ) aluminium–zinc coated strip: where it fits, size ranges, lengths up to 25 m and how to order.
Request a quoteAluzinc is an aluminium–zinc (AZ) coating with about 55% aluminium, applied to the strip in a continuous hot-dip line before forming. We roll it into the same C, Z, Sigma and U sections as our galvanized and Magnelis ranges.
What Aluzinc offers
- The aluminium gives a durable barrier, good heat resistance and a bright, reflective surface.
- The zinc share gives some sacrificial protection, but generally less at cut edges than a zinc or ZM coating.
- It is chosen where its appearance or heat behaviour matters, or where the cladding system is specified in AZ and the structure should match.
For buildings where cut-edge protection matters most, galvanized Z275 or Magnelis (ZM) is usually the better choice. The purlin coatings guide compares all options.
Steel grade and coating mass
The steel grade and coating mass of Aluzinc strip are confirmed with each quotation. Our size pages therefore show no indicative load table for this material; your engineer should design with the grade stated on the certificate.

Lengths, holes and minimum order
- Lengths: 6 m or 12 m, or cut to any length from 1 m to 25 m.
- Holes: punched in the line to your drawing.
- Minimum order: 5 t per size and material.
- Documents: EN 10204 3.1 certificates on request.
How to order
Write the section with “Aluzinc” and, if your specification fixes them, the grade and coating mass, for example C 150×80×20×2, Aluzinc. Send it with lengths, quantities and hole positions through the quote form.
Questions
Is Aluzinc better than galvanized?
It depends on the exposure. Aluzinc gives a durable barrier and good heat resistance; zinc and ZM coatings protect cut edges better. Choose by site environment and specification.
Can Aluzinc sections be combined with galvanized ones?
Mixed metallic coatings in one structure are common, but check the detailing with your engineer, especially in damp or aggressive environments.
