ISO 898-1 property class 8.8 fully threaded carbon-steel rod to DIN 975 / DIN 976, quenched and tempered, ISO metric coarse pitch, 1 m stock lengths. Nominal tensile 800 MPa (yield ≈ 640 MPa) — the default high-tensile stud material for machinery anchoring, clamping, and fabricated hangers. Diameters M4–M64 are listed above.
Specify class 8.8 rod where a 4.8 bar would be undersized: machine bases, conveyor frames, heavier pipe supports, and custom studs. Mate with class 8 nuts and washers sized to the joint; use class 8 coupling nuts to extend length. Do not mix 8.8 rod with class 5 nuts if the nut is intended to carry the full proof load. Coating (plain, zinc, or HDG) should be stated with the enquiry.
