ISO 898-1 property class 4.8 socket head cap screws to DIN 912 / ISO 4762. Cylindrical head with internal hexagon drive, metric coarse thread, tensile 400 MPa. The head sits in a counterbore so the joint face stays flush. Listed M3–M33.
Use for light fixtures, covers, and compact assemblies where a hex head would interfere. Class 4.8 is the economical choice; for tooling and machinery the usual grade is 8.8 or 10.9. Pair with class 5 nuts if a nut is used, or into a tapped hole of suitable class. Full-height DIN 912 heads need a deep enough counterbore — for shallow pockets see DIN 6912.
