ISO 898-2 property class 10 hexagon nuts to DIN 934 / ISO 4032. Alloy steel, quenched and tempered to match ISO 898-1 class 10.9 male fasteners. Metric coarse thread, standard height. Listed M3–M80.
Always mate class 10 nuts with 10.9 bolts or equivalent high-preload studs — using a class 8 nut wastes the bolt’s capacity and can strip the nut. Typical on machine tools, presses, hydraulic equipment, and compact high-load joints. Confirm any electroplated coating is compatible with the heat-treated substrate (hydrogen embrittlement risk on high-strength fasteners). For HV structural sets use DIN 6915 instead.
