Z profiles are cold roll-formed purlin sections to EN 10162 with flanges pointing in opposite directions and stiffening edge lips. The Z geometry is what makes modern roof construction efficient: purlins nest into each other and overlap at supports, creating structurally continuous multi-span lines that carry more load with less steel than simply supported sections. We produce to order from pre-galvanized S350GD+Z strip (EN 10346) — the standard purlin material — or uncoated S235JR–S355JR strip.
Z purlins carry roof and wall cladding on industrial halls, warehouses, agricultural buildings, and solar carports; they also serve as floor joists in light steel construction. Overlap lengths, anti-sag rods, and cleat hole patterns are configured per project, and holes are punched in-line so purlins arrive ready to bolt. Pick the web height and thickness from the table above; each variant page shows the dimensioned cross-section and nominal kg/m for structural pre-sizing.
Made to order in any length from 1 to 15 m, with a minimum production run of approximately 500 kg per size and coating. Send a quote request with your purlin schedule — sizes, lengths, quantities, hole punching if required, and delivery country — and we return lead time and delivered pricing. High-strength S350GD and custom lip geometries are available for optimized designs.
