UPN Steel Channel

UPN channels are European U-profiles with tapered flanges to EN 10365 (formerly DIN 1026-1), hot-rolled in structural grade S235JR. The open C-shape places the flat web outward, making UPN easy to bolt or weld against other members and ideal for building up box sections from channel pairs.

Typical uses include stringers and edge beams, frame rails, supports and brackets, trailer chassis, racking uprights, and lintels. Two UPN channels welded toe-to-toe form an economical closed box where torsional stiffness is needed. Watch the shear-centre offset in single-channel bending applications — load through the web plane to avoid twisting. Sizes with dimensions and kg/m are listed above.
