Applications & Selection Guide
ASTM A500 rectangular HSS is cold-formed, electric-resistance welded structural tubing for beams, girts, purlins, lintels, trailer and equipment frames in the US and Latin American markets. The deeper side carries bending in one plane. It is offered in Grade B (minimum yield 46 ksi / 315 MPa) and Grade C (50 ksi / 345 MPa).
Sizes run from 1½" × 1" to 20" × 16" with walls from 0.063" to 0.750". Each size page gives the HSS designation, metric dimensions, weight in lb/ft and kg/m, and major- and minor-axis section properties calculated with the AISC design wall of 0.93 × nominal. The internal weld bead can be removed on most sizes from 3" × 2".
Standard length is 6 m (about 20 ft); special lengths are available on request. The minimum order is 10 t per size; if the size is already in production, we can accept orders from 5 t. We ship from Türkiye to US and Latin American ports with mill test reports.
