ISO 898-2 class 8 nylon-insert lock nuts to DIN 985 / ISO 10511. Quenched-and-tempered hex body with a nylon prevailing-torque ring — the standard vibration-resistant nut for class 8.8 bolts. Listed M3–M39.
Specify on conveyors, fans, mobile plant, and any 8.8 joint that must not back off in service. Keep the nut class matched to the bolt. Where temperature, solvents, or paint-bake cycles would damage nylon, switch to DIN 980 class 8 all-metal lock nuts. The insert does not replace correct preload or a hardened washer where the joint design needs one.
