ISO 898-2 property class 10 nylon-insert prevailing-torque lock nuts to DIN 985 / ISO 10511. High-strength hex body with a polyamide crown ring, metric coarse thread, listed M3–M39. Pair only with ISO 898-1 class 10.9 bolts so the nut can carry the preload.
Choose class 10 lock nuts only with 10.9 fasteners when the joint needs both high clamp force and resistance to rotation. Nylon still limits temperature — for hot equipment, exhaust-adjacent steelwork, or reusable metal locking use DIN 980 class 10. Confirm coating compatibility with the 10.9/class 10 heat treatment.
