ISO 898-2 class 5 hex flange nuts to DIN 6923 / ISO 4161. A washer-shaped flange under the hex spreads clamp load so a separate washer is often unnecessary. Metric coarse, listed M4–M36. Pair with class 4.8 bolts.
Useful on thin sheet, slotted holes, and painted surfaces where a standard hex nut would dig in. Serrated flanges (where supplied) add a modest resistance to rotation; they are not a substitute for a prevailing-torque lock nut on severe vibration. Keep class matched to 4.8 fasteners.
