ISO 898-1 property class 8.8 countersunk socket head screws to DIN 7991 / ISO 10642. 90° flush head, internal hex drive, quenched and tempered (800 MPa nominal). Listed M3–M10. Countersunk geometry has less tensile capacity than a DIN 912 cylinder head of the same class.
Specify when the head must disappear into the plate on an 8.8 joint. ISO 10642 recognises reduced loadability versus a cylindrical-head screw of the same class — if the joint needs full 8.8 capacity, use DIN 912 and a counterbore instead. Pair with class 8 nuts if nutted.
