The 160x70x2mm steel Sigma profile is a cold roll-formed section to EN 10162 with a stiffened, indented 160 mm web, 70 mm flanges with 25 mm edge lips and 2 mm sheet thickness, weighing a nominal 5.75 kg/m. Produced to order in galvanized S350GD+Z steel, the Σ geometry moves the shear centre towards the section centroid — higher load capacity and less twist than an equivalent C profile at the same weight.
Sigma 160x70x2 is the weight-optimized choice for solar tracker and fixed-tilt rafters, long-span purlins, racking and shelving uprights, and light steel structures where every kilogram of steel and foundation load counts. The indented web raises buckling resistance, allowing thinner material for the same performance.
