Steel Phillips Countersunk Screw 8.8

ISO 898-1 property class 8.8 Phillips countersunk machine screws to DIN 965 / ISO 7046. Flat 90° head sits flush; cross recess for assembly-line driving. Listed M3–M10. Countersunk geometry plus a Phillips drive is not equivalent in torque or tensile capacity to a DIN 7991 or DIN 912 of the same class.

Choose 8.8 when the flush joint is more loaded than a 4.8 screw should carry. Countersunk geometry still reduces tensile capacity versus a pan or cylinder head. For higher torque in a flush head, DIN 7991 (internal hex) is the stronger drive. Mate with class 8 nuts if nutted.
