Galvanized tubes are used where steel stays outdoors or in damp conditions — fences, railings, canopies, agricultural structures and support frames.

Galvanized tube or galvanizing after fabrication?
Galvanized lengths suit bolted assemblies and parts that are only cut and drilled. If members are welded into frames, welding burns off the zinc around the joints. For welded assemblies it is usually better to fabricate in black steel and hot-dip galvanize the finished parts, typically to EN ISO 1461.

- Vent and drain holes: closed hollow sections must have holes so molten zinc can flow in and out and air can escape. Design them to EN ISO 14713-2 and agree positions with the galvanizer.
- Steel chemistry: silicon and phosphorus content affect coating thickness and appearance. Tell the galvanizer the grade, and ask for the cast analysis on the 3.1 certificate if appearance matters.
- Distortion: long, thin-walled or asymmetric assemblies can distort in the bath. Discuss size and shape with the galvanizer before fabrication.

State size, grade and finish together, for example 100×100×4, S355J2H, hot-dip galvanized, with lengths and quantities. Standard length is 6 m; special lengths from 4 m to 12 m on request. Send it through the quote form.
Questions
Is the inside of the tube galvanized?
Yes. Our galvanized hollow sections are hot-dip galvanized as finished tubes, so the molten zinc coats both the outside and the inside surfaces.
Can galvanized tubes be painted?
Yes, as a duplex system. The surface needs suitable preparation, such as sweep blasting or a compatible primer, according to the paint system.
